Long Time, No Update

Well, since last updating, a lot has happened...

1. Senior Show turned our AMAZING! Working on my paintings sped up and I forgot all about blogging, and I didn't really have time for it anyways. However, I pulled it off and got all my paintings finished, framed, and hung before the day of the show. Of course, I could not have done any of that with out my darling fiance! :] After the opening lecture, there were a ton of people swarming the 3rd floor of Main Hall, and it was an exhilerating experience... really unlike anything I have ever felt. There is no way that my career in art is over... that was just the beginning.

2. GRADUATION! All three sets of my parents were able to make it up to Virginia to see me graduate and it was an interesting experience having them all together... :] But it was good none the less. I'm not going to miss SVU so much, but I'll definitely miss all the people... and I am very glad to be going back east next year to be near all those amazing people.

3. Travel. Holy cow, Jake and I have travelled a ton. We left Virginia to drive out to Utah on Mother's day. That was a three day trek. Then a couple weeks later we went to California for the Breanna and Ben's WEDDING!!! That was so much fun! We seriously had a blast and we loved being a part of Ben and Bre's special day. <3 We also spent some extra time in California to spend time with my sister, brother, and Christie, so were in town for my sister's graduation. The weekend after I got back from Salt Lake, I went up to visit my biological father. That was fun as well! Although he was supposed to be working, he stayed home to spend time with me! :D And he made his world famous ribs... mmmmm... Then a couple weeks after that, Jake and I went to Colorado for my brother's wedding!! That was another truly special experience and I am so happy for him and his wife. Then finally a return to Utah. And after pledging that I would not leave Salt Lake for awhile, Jake invited me to Hurricane for his brother's homecoming. Of course, that's a moment I can't miss, because it will never happen again. So here I am in Hurricane, loving being with Jake's family and anticipating Jake's return from work daily.

4. WEDDING UPDATE: So, if you ask my sister, I have changed the wedding colors about a million times. So what. :D It's been difficult making concrete decisions. I am however, really sure that we have a venue... It's called "The Castle" (cheesy, I know) and it's in Layton. It's going to be the perfect venue because of all the possibilities attached to it! Upon booking, we get our own wedding coordinator and she will basically do all the research and make all the contacts for whatever we want...! Awesome. We're planning a really eclectic, but fun wedding reception that will be a little less than ordinary and very DIY... I've already decided against having any real (or silk) flowers, none-at all. Instead, mom and I will handmake fabric flowers. :] And, my bouquet will be made out of metal - think that one over! As for a search for a wedding dress... oh, I've found the most amazing dress, but it's too expensive. And pretty much everything I've tried on will need more altering than just sleeves. It'll be interesting to see what dress I decide on... it's a tough decision. We have also decided on an Open House/Reception in Dallas on March 12, so all my Dallas friends who won't be able to make it to Salt Lake, I hope to see you there!

Anyways, life in general has been good, but super busy. I will try to remember to post more often. It should be easier now that that all the hard travel is over :]
